Rovinj (12 000 inhabitants) is a well know touristic center, is situated at the West coast of the peninsula Istra. Approximately 100 km South of Trieste ( Italy ). The Train station is situated in Kanfanar ( 17 km) of the airport in Pula ( 30 km ). Mediterranean climate with mild winters and warm summers makes diving the whole year around possible. The history of Rovinj is going back till the 3rd century. In the 17th and 18th century the city was the biggest place for fish and sea in Istria. Since then this popular place on the sea developed to a tourist center. The searching after unique landscape for his stories led even Jules Verne, the father of the literature of science-fiction, to Istra. A part of his book "Matthias Sandorf" plays in Rovinj. The City is rich on cultural monuments, which were built from the 13th till the 18th century. The picture of the city formed by the baroque church the „Holy Euphemis“. Rovinj with its 13 isles, many beaches, coves parks and several beautiful landscapes offers recuperation as well as adventure. For every age and during all season is Rovinj an artist and exhibitions, pop or classical music festivals or the charm of his architecture offers something for everybody.
